Jean-Paul Van Lith creates his first crystal pieces with the help of a Venetian glassmaker. In 1982, the Por-tieux glassworks in the Vosges hired him to set up a glass art studio (which remained in operation until 1984). Monica Damian and Matei Negreanu joined him there. In 1984-1985, i was appointed designer and instructor at the Hartswiller crystal glassworks near Strasbourg (founded in 1932). His work has been shown in numerous solo exhibitions, mainly in France, but also in Luxembourg, Portugal, the U.S.A., Hong Kong and Korea.
