Auguste Trémont (1892-1980)

Lot 90 - Pencil sketch on paper. Framed under glass. Marked AT in the lower left corner. 20th century. Dimensions: H: 18; W: 15 cm. Auguste Trémont, born in 1892 in Luxembourg, was a painter and sculptor trained at the École nationale des Arts décoratifs in Paris. A great lover of the Jardin des Plantes and particularly its menagerie, he developed a passion for animal sculpture, in which he became a specialist. His most famous and iconic sculpture remains the pair of lions adorning the entrance to Luxembourg City Hall.
