"Silent speech" by Pit Wagner Painter from... - Lot 18 - Lux-Auction
"Silent speech" by Pit Wagner Painter from Luxembourg pitwagner.lu Oil on canvas, signed and dated 2007 lower left. Framed in an American box. Dimensions: H: 135; W: 115 cm Water, earth and air, fish, faces and birds. Masks have mute fish mouths, sometimes fish eyes. The rhythmic composition stimulates the imagination. A sound silence, musical notes... Poster for my monographic exhibition "Navigation à vue" at the Embassy of the Grand Duchy in Brussels in 2008. Born in Luxembourg in 1954, the artist, engraver, illustrator and painter Pit Wagner studied Art Studies at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie Amsterdam from 1976 to 1979 and started his career as a professional artist in 1980. Pit Wagner likes to interpret moments of life, moments of activity and movement that he captures live and freezes on paper. Working on the move, his sketches draw their inspiration from the street, nature and courtrooms. His art is to be understood as a story, a testimony of an experience or a moment in which his drawings are transformed into tales. It is therefore not surprising that since 2019, he officiates as a "Life Drawing" Teacher for animation students at Uni Luxembourg.
