"Stabilized" by Robert Brandy Painter from Luxembourg Oil on paper, signed and dated 2020 lower left. Work framed under glass. Dimensions : at sight: H: 65; W: 50 cm with frame: H: 83; W: 63 cm Robert Brandy, painter of abstract movement is considered as one of the pioneers of the professionalization of the independent artist in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Trained at the Beaux-Arts d'Aix-en-Provence from 1972 to 1976, he became interested in the Supports/Surfaces movement and especially in the work of Vincent Bioulès and Claude Viallat. Their influences will mark his work in such a way that he stretches and treats his canvas himself. In 1976 he returned to Luxembourg with the determination to make his passion his profession and to live from his art in his country. This he did with undeniable success. Since then, about 135 solo exhibitions and many more group exhibitions have taken his work around the world (Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States, Yugoslavia among others). Today, Robert Brandy enjoys a recognition that goes beyond national borders and his works have been integrated into important museum and private art collections.
