Dimensions: H: 99 ; W: 46 cm Charles Vital Cornu was a French sculptor born in Paris on April 17, 1851 and died in the same city on June 29, 1927. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he began his career as a sculptor by winning a first class gold medal, followed by an honorable mention at the 1889 Salon for his first submission, Le Ricochet. In 1882, he received a 3rd class medal for his cast iron work, Belles vendanges. Charles Vital Cornu was a member of the French Artists since 1885. He received several awards, including a bronze medal in 1889 and a silver medal in 1900. He created many sculptures, including "Le Réveil du Génie", a bronze sculpture.
